There are two very important factors that make Sharm El Sheikh the tourist location that it is today. The main and biggest reason is the diving capabilities. Many people regard Sharm as one of the best diving locations in the world, and this is for several reasons. One massive factor is simply the amount of biological diversity in the Red Sea, the corals in this ocean are very easy to find as there are so many, there are around 250 in this area alone! These coral reefs are some of the easiest for divers to access in the world. The fact that there are so many different fish here, means that people can see something new every time they visit, there are actually about 1000 species here. This means that experienced divers can analyse a different group of fish each time they come here.

When divers head out to look for certain things and species in the ocean, this forms a new type of tourism named “Scientific tourism”. If you have a deep passion for something like this then this location is great for those that enjoy a “Science holiday”. These holidays are very popular with travel agents, mainly because the length of someones stay greatly increases.

The next big reason for Sharm becoming such a big tourist attraction is none other than the weather itself. Egypt is very warm and dry, making it a great place for sunning. This is one of the places in the world just like the rest of Africa, that receives very little water all year round. This destination can get very hot as well, perfect for those that love hot and sweaty weather.
